The MP Scan 2 Add-on Module is for customers who already own Music Publisher 6 Standard Edition and would like to now add on the scanning capabilities.

The Scanning Edition is identical to the Standard Edition with the addition of scanning. No need to have a separate add-on like SharpEye when you can have it built in to Music publisher. With Scanning Edition you your very own Music OCR (Optical Character Recognition)!

Scanning can be a great time saver - even faster than the already speedy Music Publisher system for entering notes manually. Just put your sheet music into virtually any scanning device connected to your computer, run Music Publisher Scanning Edition, and in a few moments your music will appear in Music Publisher, just as though you had hand-entered it. MP Scan 2 can scan and understand:

• Both normal and cue-sized staffs.
• Clefs including old-fashioned F clefs (reversed type)
• Key signatures
• Time signatures
• Barlines including repeat bars, double bars
• Notes - normal, grace- and cue-sized, beams, cross-staff beams, accents, and special musical characters
• Accidentals
• Slurs (including ties and phrase marks)
• Lyrics and chord names - and the latter will transpose if you transpose the music later on.

Like all OCR, the process sometimes needs a little manual help, such as moving a barline, or changing an eighth to a quarter, but this is a very straightforward correction process that only takes a short time. See here for a video demonstration of how that can work.
